In 1974 Co-founders Bill Mathews and Henry Dormoy launched DM Industries. Shortly after start-up, they added an additional partner, Eric Dormoy (Current President and sole owner of DMI). For the first 10 years they focused on the manufacture of marble vanities and bathtubs, which they sold directly to the South Florida Builder. In 1984, faced with competition from vacuum formed acrylics, they started designing bathtub and spa molds, purchased the necessary capital equipment and jumped into the race of supplying retailers with bathtubs and spas (hot tubs). The first few years, like many new businesses, was a learning experience. In the late 1980's they separated the marketing of their bath and spa efforts.

With this newly defined focus, the both the bath (Vita Bath) and spa (Vita Spa), in-spite of the declining economy of the early 90's, started growing.

Today, with nearly 350 dealers (worldwide) - 300 in the United States, Vita Spa has earned the reputation as one of the Industry leaders.

Vita Bath, never wanting the label of little brother, has also grown to worldwide status with such prestigious clients as Marriott (MORI), Disney Resorts, Ameri-host and many others.

Today, DM Industries having spanned 4 decades in business, has four different divisions. Adding to Vita Spa and Vita Bath, we have Tecron a kitchen and bath counter top product and keeping with our theme of health and relaxation, we have Shower Plus, a division that produces unique shower massaging systems.

Vita Spa has been at the fore front of spa and hot tub innovation. In over 20 different cases, they were the first or the only manufacturer to introduce a product innovation. LISTENING: Probably more than anything, we listen. Every spa we sell is accompanied by an OFI (opportunity for improvement). We welcome comments from our customers. Obviously we aren't able to act on all of them, but from the suggestions of others has come many a good idea.
